As part of our continued commitment to service and community outreach, the PPA committee of 2025/2026 successfully carried out two community outreach initiatives during the year through the proceeds and support generated from our flagship events, Familian Fantasy and Jan Jam 2026. These projects included the donation of essential medicines and the organization of a medical camp for the community of Periyasandi Gramaya, as well as a contribution towards patient support at Apeksha Hospital Maharagama.
These initiatives reflect the spirit of compassion and responsibility upheld by our Familian network, ensuring that our events continue to create meaningful impact beyond celebration and fellowship.
A Heartwarming Outreach to Periyasandi Grameya
On 22 November 2025, the Past Pupils’ Association of Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya completed a truly heartwarming outreach to Periyasandi Grameya : A community that welcomed us with open arms and reminded us of the true beauty of service.
This meaningful journey was lovingly guided by our Principal, Rev. Sr. Charitha Thandalge, and supported every step of the way by Rev. Sr. Anusha Perera, Superior of Holy Family Convent Kurijampitiya.
With one simple intention, to bring care, comfort, and connection , the team set out to serve a village that so richly deserved it.
Our past Familians, now compassionate medical practitioners, returned not only with their professional expertise but with hearts full of empathy. They listened attentively, treated diligently, and comforted gently, truly embodying the enduring spirit of HFC.
The Sri Lanka Navy stood beside us in solidarity, conducting the dental camp with dedication and professionalism.
Wickramarachchi Opticians partnered with us to offer eye examinations and provided free spectacles to those in need, restoring not just sight but renewed hope.
Asiri Medical extended invaluable nursing support, ensuring that every prescription issued by our Familian doctors was dispensed with care and attention.
We are also deeply grateful to George Steuart Health and Gamma Pharmaceuticals for generously providing essential medication that enabled us to touch so many lives meaningfully.
Making a Difference, One Child at a Time
The committee of 2025/2026 is deeply honored to have supported the Paediatric ward of the Apeksha Hospital by providing over LKR 2.9 million worth of essential, hard-to-procure medicines for their pediatric ward. This contribution will directly touch the lives of more than 60 young patients, offering them the care and hope they so urgently need.
Being part of this initiative has reminded us of the power of compassion and the difference a dedicated community can make. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve and hope that future committees will continue this vital effort, carrying forward a legacy of care, generosity, and unwavering support for these young lives.
